GMS is a growing, forward-thinking firm looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Accounts Junior to join our team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who already has at least 1 year of accounts experience and is currently studying, or looking to continue studying, AAT through an apprenticeship.
The Role
As an Accounts Junior, you’ll work closely with our experienced team and gain valuable hands-on experience across a range of accounting duties. You’ll have the opportunity to develop your technical knowledge, build your professional skills and progress your career within a growing business.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with bookkeeping and day-to-day accounting tasks
- Processing invoices, payments and receipts
- Bank reconciliations
- Supporting the preparation of VAT returns
- Assisting with accounts preparation
- Assisting with personal tax returns
- Assisting with audits
- Maintaining accurate financial records
- Liaising with clients and colleagues
- Supporting the wider accounts team as required
About You
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Ideally has at least 1 year of experience in an accounts environment
- Currently studying AAT or keen to undertake an AAT apprenticeship
- Numerate, organised and detail-oriented
- Keen to learn and develop professionally
- Confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Able to work independently while also being a team player
- Professional and friendly in their approach
- Looking to build a long-term career in accountancy
